Our Client wants an Account Director who can inspire confidence in smart clients: positive, presentable, thinks and talks clearly without resorting to marketing jargon. The candidate must be a fast learner who can get to the root of a problem and articulate ways forward. Our client predominantly takes dull looking organisations and makes them look funkier; therefore you must be able to find an interesting side in everything.
Experience can be client side or agency but needs to have a good grounding across comms basics media management, events and online for example. Over the years our client has shifted from being 90% consumer to now being 70% corporate. They are selling integrated campaigns more as opposed to just PR. This adds to the variety of the job, and also the revenue opportunities.
An Account Director is expected to sell in revenue generating ideas to clients the crisis management plan, a film, web build for example and generate new leads. The clients workforce works on these as a team, with each member playing a vital part to the process.
