Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen at the UK's biggest regional business media company as they're recruiting for a Subscriptions Sales and Marketing Manager. The vacancy, based at the head office in Manchester, has been created due to the promotion of the current Membership / Subscriptions Manager. At the company, the magazine subscribers are automatically 'members' and receive reduced rate ticket prices to company business events and awards (attended by over 15,000 key business people every year) as well as having access to restricted online content and other benefits.

The ideal applicant is already a subscription's or membership manager or a senior subscriptions executive / supervisor. Experienced at generating subscription sales revenue and increasing subscriptions you will need to be commercially aware, motivated and ambitious. You will be joining a company that has an excellent reputation with good career / promotion prospects.

You will be managing a small team responsible for managing magazine circulation and also the sale of subscriptions / memberships of 5 regional business magazines and your main purpose will be to increase subscription / membership levels across the portfolio of titles whilst adhering to industry regulations (e.g. ABC).

Responsibilities:

- Growth of new subscriptions / memberships (revenue and numbers).
- Maximising customer retention.
- Database management and segmentation / targeting for marketing campaigns.
- Creating and executing promotional campaigns with associated marketing material (Notably email campaigns, but also print and perhaps social media and online).
- Analysis of response to campaigns (with action plans) and producing monthly reports.
- Working with internal events, sales, I.T, production and editorial teams to promote the portfolio and increase subscriptions / memberships.
- Management / ownership of the 5 separate magazine circulations working towards ABC targets.
- Researching external member / subscriber rewards and promotional offers.
- Development and expansion of the subscription / membership package.
- Competitor analysis
- Identification of new potential markets and revenue opportunities.

You will have a good level of experience in subscriptions, with sales and marketing experience relevant to the responsibilities above. You will also have an intermediate - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (particularly Excel). Those with management experience, digital marketing skills and an awareness of ABC audit processes would have an advantage.

Salary: £27,000 basic per annum plus monthly bonus (OTE £33K).
